Adhiraj Singh Joins Shaadi.com As General Counsel

Adhiraj Singh has been appointed General Counsel of People Interactive (I) Pvt. Ltd., the company that runs Shaadi.com, the company confirmed on Wednesday.

Singh moves to Shaadi.com from MakeMyTrip, where he most recently served as Associate General Counsel. Before that, he spent nearly a decade with the Bharti Airtel group. A 2010 graduate of the National Law School of India University, he brings over 16 years of experience as in-house counsel across the travel and telecom sectors.

In his new role, Singh will head Shaadi.com's legal function, with responsibility for compliance, risk management, and corporate legal strategy.

The People Group Founder and CEO Anupam Mittal welcomed the appointment, saying Singh's experience and perspective would be a valuable addition to the company's leadership team as it looks to scale.

The move adds to a string of General Counsel appointments across India's consumer internet sector this year, as companies continue to bring in legal leaders with backgrounds in high-growth, heavily regulated businesses to steer compliance and risk functions through periods of expansion.
